"The custodians of Adelaide Hills House believe that we have a duty of care to minimise our impact on the natural environment. This property is powered with renewable energy, respects flora and fauna, protects the natural landscapes of the Adelaide Hills and supports its local communities."
As Chair of the Premier's Climate Change Council, the peak body for providing climate advice to the Government of South Australia, one of our Custodians is a key advisor on climate change adaptation and mitigation.
Having attended United Nations COP21 in Paris, COP28 in Dubai, COP29 in Baku and Climate Week in NYC, our custodian brings a wealth of knowledge about sustainability to the management of Adelaide Hills House. Whilst we remain committed to providing our guests with an unrivalled luxury experience, we remain equally committed to reducing the impact on the natural environment in which we operate.

HOW WE CAN HELP
In preparing this property for you, we have restored the soil health, worked with local tradespeople, sourced local building materials, used locally quarried stone, upcycled and restored antique furniture, supported local nurseries, planted a vegetable garden for your health and wellbeing, filtered the rainwater, installed a 12.75KW renewable energy solar system and scrutinised every purchasing decision.
In maintaining the gardens, we use organic weed spays, compost organic matter and organic untreated seeds. The grounds of Adelaide Hills House are maintained by local contractors who understand the Adelaide Hills.
Over time, we will continue to do more as we believe that environmental care is not a project cost, it is a positive lifestyle choice.

HOW YOU CAN HELP
Sorting waste is one way you can reduce landfill and help the natural environment. We would very much appreciate for you to separate waste, recycling and organics into the designated containers and bins that are clearly labeled across the property.
Over 1,000 plants have been hand planted around the property and many are still establishing themselves. By staying on the gravel and paved pathways wherever possible, you will be helping to establish the garden at Adelaide Hills House.
PROTECTING THE LOCAL WILDLIFE
Adelaide Hills House is home to a family of kangaroos who can often be seen on the property. Please treat this family with the kindness and respect they deserve, as this is something truly special for many of our guests. When driving on the roads in the Adelaide Hills, take care for kangaroos, koalas and other wildlife crossing the roads.
